The Raven Maps & Images Massachusetts Wall Map is well known for combining accuracy and beauty. The Raven Maps & Images's Maps are prepared using base materials originally produced by the U.S. Geological Survey. These extremely detailed bases identify thousands of features, such as even minor lakes and streams ignored by most maps. Raven brings the U.S.G.S. materials up to date with current roads and reservoirs. They then add color tints to depict elevation. The colors progress from greens at lower elevations, through yellows and browns, to grey and finally white at the highest altitudes in the mountainous states. This sequence of color steps replaces the abstraction of contour lines with a graphic picture of elevation -- in combination with the relief shading -- of the entire landform. The map detail covers a wide range of information including cities, major highways, and many rivers, lakes, geographic features, railroads and airports. The Wall Map is available in either non laminated or laminated -- because people can't keep their hands off of them.

Raven Maps & Images laminated maps are heat sealed in lightweight (1.7 mil) clear vinyl. This finish is easy to care for, and it can even be written on with dry erase markers (available at any office supply store) and wiped clean with a soft cloth. Laminated maps are durable enough to pin onto the wall, yet flexible enough to be rolled and shipped in Raven Maps & Images sturdy cardboard tubes. A laminated map can also be mounted and framed without using glass. This method of display helps keep the weight and cost of framing down, and is less reflective and easier to clean than glass.
